Inside The Marshall's Home

The Marshall’s house had obviously seen its share of history-- trials and triumphs, and emerged with a sense of maturity that no other house on the block exhibited. It stood slumped and relaxed, yet candidly faced the street in an unashamed way. Built in an era that was unaccustomed to indoor plumbing and electrical wiring, 909 Dillard was without a working kitchen or bathroom. When the Marshall's encountered and inhabited the home it was close to 60 years old and had the necessary renovations done to make this home more suitable to 20th century living, yet was still not what we would consider a “modern” house. From that point, the Marshall's lived there another 40 years making this 19th century structure a cozy and secure setting. Through arrangement of furniture and other interior possessions accumulated over the years, they had customized their living spaces into ones that very boldly expressed the nature of both of their personalities. Beyond that, not much else seemed like it had changed architecturally over the 40 years the Marshalls lived at 909 Dillard.
