Mr. and Mrs. Marshall have worked hard during their life for all their possessions. Over the years they have collected many items that remain important to them as representations of special memories. When moving them out of their house, we realized the significance of all their possessions and their dire need for storage. This issue became a major consideration in our design process. The initial design of the house was inspired by the notion of sacred places with respect to the inner functions of daily living within a family home. Amber Snipes’ design became a precedent study and the basis for the final modern yet traditional design of the house. The new revamped design is a combination of intimate bungalow style with craftsman details and a modern approach.
